Its cold, car sulking
Hi
I hope someone may have a suggestion. The car is actually a 924S, but i'm posting on the 944 thread as its an engine problem..... Basically, its got cold outside and it won't start. The problem first arose early this year, but before I could solve it, it got warmer and the symptoms went away. I tried this morning, it coughed once and the nothing. Tried again this evening, and it fired a couple of times and then played (very) dead. When it did this last winter I found I could tow it and it would start reasonably quickly. Sometimes if I cranked it over for long enough it would eventually run if I didn't flatten the battery first. I'm guessing its a sensor problem, but modern fuel injected systems aren't my forte (if I had my way I'd fit a couple of SUs,) so I'm at a loss to know where to look. Does anyone have any advice/suggestions? |
I would start with your DME temp sensor. Typically a cold start issue is due to that. I've actually got a 944 turbo here with a similar problem that I am hoping to troubleshoot this week when the mornings get a little colder.
