In my 87 944 NA
The drivers side mirror glass just fell out. Luckily it didn't break.

I can't tell how it was adhered to the black rubber/plastic backing plate and how to get it get it back in and stay in

initially I'd thought of maybe grabbing some superglue but it doesn't look like any adhesive was used originally
