New to 944s

Hello, i'm a new member to this porsche world and i'm thinking about starting a 944 project. I drive a 06 350z. But I recently found 944's to be a looker and I found a good price on one. The reason why i'm trying to buy another is because i'm letting the lady drive it so i'm looking for another thats cheaper. First off, what kind of stuff should I be looking for? I just looked at the car didn't test drive it yet but the motor mounts seem to be weak. Thats expected of the car though being 20 years old. What common problems should I expect to see? They are trying to get rid of a 1987 porsche 944s for $2950. It seems very low. It is NA though. It has 99k miles on it. Here's the link for it.http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...uperSpotlight=
Any insight would be much appreciated.

RE: New to 944s

First find out about the water pump and timing belts. When was the last time they were changed? Is there receipts for the work.
Check the motor mounts or have them looked at. Check under the battery tray for rust. Drive it. How does it shift, smooth or sloppy? Spend the extra $300 and take
it to a qualified Porsche Mechanic and have it gone over. Remember you're buying a 20 year old car. They tend to need some TLC.

Hope some of this helps! Good Luck.
