Default Only blows hot air, no cold!

Hello, my 1989 944 NA has been out of storage for 2 weeks now, it runs great ! (new plugs wires dist cap). My only problem is no matter what settings i change on the dashboard this car blows HOT air all the time , its so hot its unbearable and I have to put the windows down.

Is this a problem with my controls on the dash? (something got stuck over winter storage) Or is this a problem w/ coolant?

Thanks! ps 185,000 miles

You need to check the mechanism and linkage, what is not happening is the closing off of the hot water valve to the heater matrix. Porsachedoc may have a more specific piece of advice.

Is it equipped with AC?

I think this is more than the AC not working. Big Bob

True, but if the AC compressor is fried then all its blowing is the heat generated from within the engine compartment since the car isn't moving.

There is a heater control valve on the back of the engine. Make sure the vacuum line is plugged into that correctly, and that the arm is swinging properly.

I will be checking this later this week. Any pictures around that could help me locate exactly what I am looking for? Thanks bob + doc

UPDATE: I bought the necessary plastic clip, and looked under my dash and I could see that the clip was broken. The rod was not held in place by the clip. So I replaced the clip, placed the rod in, and now the HVAC works fine again, no more hot air in the face. Thanks everyone.
