Porsche 944S 16V Transmission

Hello again,

I have problem shifting from one speed in another. I was driving and about to downshift when it wouldn't go into 2nd speed. I pulled over and had t force the stick into second and start it like that. Afterwards it can switch into any other speed except 1st with somewhat forceful shift. I am thinking its the synchro. Since I doubt the clutch had anything with it because it pulls well when in speed. On idle it is hard to shift as well, after it gets used to shifting in 2nd 3rd and 4th, its hard to shift reverse, and when reverse works it difficult to shift into forward gears etc. Any ideas would be helpful, thank you ahead.

PS: How much do new transmissions go around for? And what is a good website to order from.
Specs: 1988 944S 16V 93000 miles.

How is your clutch pedal does it feel loose or softer than usual and do you hear any squeaking when you press the pedal? Is the clutch hydraulics working? Is there any fluid leaks from around the bell housing? Also is there any fluid left in the clutch hydraulic resivwar? If it's only difficult to select one or two gears it may be a syncromesh problem, but if you find it difficult to engage all gears it's more likely to be a clutch hydraulic problem such as a faulty clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder or a crack in pipe causing a drop in pressure thus not making enough pressure for the slave to fully engage the clutch, resulting in difficulty to change gear. Think of trying to change gear with out using the clutch, it will give you the same result as a clutch hydraulics that don't work would...

Ok I will definitely look at those suggestions. Thank you for the reply.

Man, lots of driveline questions over the weekend.

Sounds like the rubber center of the disc is starting to come apart. Eventually it will fail completely.
