RE: rear hatch switch
More than likely it is the motor that is mounted on the rear fender that is triggered by the switch. I imagine you can remove it (3 bolts IIRC), take it off, and apply power to it to test to see if the armature moves.

RE: rear hatch switch
Are you hearing the motor but its not opening the hatch? Or is the motor not working? If you can get someone to hit the switch while you look at the assembly, you'll be able to tell whether its working or not without disassembling anything. If the motor isn't moving, start with the fuse. If it is, its most likely the cable adjustment or the hatch pins that need to be adjusted.

RE: rear hatch switch
I have supplied power to the hatch motor and it does open the hatch. also the fuse is operational because the lighter works.I need to remove the switch to see if there is voltage to the switch, and/or connecting thru Paul

RE: rear hatch switch
all you'll hear is a click.
use the key to open/close the retention collars and lube with something to see if the collars are releasing. i use wd40. try some electrical cleaner that isn't too abrasive or eats plactic on the switch. |
