Rotor question...

Is there a real benefit in using the drilled/slotted rotors versus the original non drilled rotors?

RE: Rotor question...

Unless you are putting the car on the track where you are getting them very hot, then no.

RE: Rotor question...

So as I understand it after reading up on this drilled rotors have about 87% the surface Area of non drilled rotors. Slotted have about 92% the area. So when driving under 150 MPH or so the non drilled or slotted rotors will actually stop the car faster than non drilled. Simply due to the increased surface area. I think this was assuming that you had some pretty descent brake pads installed though. Makes sense to me anyways. I was very tempted to install some drilled rotors anyways just becasue they look really cool and I don't think you would notice an increase or decrease either way in everyday driving. So if your going for looks go for it, otherwise I think its a waste of money and you would be better of getting some descent ceramic brake pads and a good brake line flush. I did all that when I replaced the master cylinder and it make a huge difference. I went with PSB ultimates if you need to know.
