stone guard installation
 

bought some replacement pieces of the 3M clear vinyl stone guards - no instructions but a website seems toindicatethat an application of a 1 part alcohol to 3 parts water solution prior to sticking these on the fenders . Does that sound right? the stuff already has a sticky surface, but seems it requires this solution to activate it and permanently set it. Anybody familiar with this?. Don;t want to ruin these fairly expensive pieces. Thanks for your input.

I use dish soap mixed with water and apply it with a spray bottle. The stone guard is sticky, but you have one shot if you are applying it dry....if you miss, you will ruin the stone guard. The soapy water will allow you to move it around as you need, then it will dry in place.
