Sunroof Operation / Parts

I have an '87 944 and when i got it it was missing some sunroof parts. The sunroof does not latch shut, it can just be pushed up and out at any time. I'm unfamiliar with the operation of the 944's sunroof. I've attached some pictures of the front and rear latches displaying the missing parts. Can anyone give me some pointers to what may need to be replaced to restore its operation. Or atleast what needs to be replaced so it will lock shut and can be open manually. This way I won't have to worry about someone simply prying the sunroof open to get in.

Yeah...you're missing some bits
have you tried turning the ignition to the first click and then pushing the sunroof button? That should lock it
I'd be way more worried about a rogue blast of wind getting it airborne while you're driving it than thieves...

944online.com should have all the parts you need. If you're strapped for cash, I'm not really sure that the front latches do that much...the back ones do all the work

RE: Sunroof Operation / Parts

Tell me about it, i get over about 65 and it feels like it's going to launch out. There have been some close calls. There seems to bee too many parts missing for it to lock if i push the button. I guess i'm going to have to find the remaining parts for the rear to get it working agian.

Thanks!
