Tail light issues...
 

So my 1984 944 has been running great. I have driven it daily since the day I bought it. No issues except one...

When I bought the car the taillights worked perfect. By the time I got it home they didnt. I checked the ground wires and lights and couldnt figure it out then one day I was messing with the fuses and I didnt mean to but I had a screwdriver and I shorted the fuse next to the tail light fuse with the connection of the tail light fuse. So i shorted one to the other and the lights came on... I dont know how to explain this. I guess there is no power even getting to the fuse.

Me dash lights downt work either unless I short it.

Hope that doesnt confuse you all like it did me.

Anyway this could just be a relay issue? Any ideas? I would like to try and fix it myself before taking it to a shop that I know will charge hundreds for what I think is a simple fix.

What year is the 944?

It's an 84.

Any ideas on where to start?

Sounds like you need to drop the fuse panel down and start checking connections ,etc.
