What sort of 944 owner are you?

OK, a conversation with ZOD in another topic led me to create this somewhat fun, somewhat informative thread.

Vote in the poll as to what 944 owner you are. Pick the best one, sorry if I couldn't think of all of the possibilities.

Then, include what you have done (or not done) to your car.

I'll start! Here is the link to my p-car profile with some pics and things that I have done:

http://www.p-caronline.com/directory/tifosiman/

It's not completely up to date, I don't have the recently purchased 930 16X9 Fuchs on there and some other goodies, but it will give you a generally good idea of where I fall in the poll.

Below is an obilgatory pic, taken last year in May, with the silver 951 phonedials on it (and before the 968CS mirrors)

Include a pic if you can. We need more pics on this forum!

Take care!

Nami

:D

Nice.

993 wheels look so good on 951's and S2's. I have a set of C2 wheels and I really think they are almost too "blocky" looking for the car's lines. The 993 wheels are the right blend of curviness and blockiness. Are those real words? Oh well.

Wow! those wheels really make a difference in the cars looks. I loke the color too! I originally wanted a set of C2's, but the shop I bought my 993 Cups from suggest I lift a couple up before I purchased them. There was a marked difference in weight between the C2's and the 993 Cups. At first I didn't think I would like them as well, but after mounting them on the car I was very glad I went with them.

As you can see in the photo, I have also installed 968 Door Handles and Aero Mirrors. The car's engine is stock, however I am running an SFR 3" Cat Back exhaust system. Future upgrades include a 968 Turbo style rear wing and some "minor" engine work (like a Stage II turbo package). Eventually I'd like to have the car repainted, all the lights replaced, and the seats replaced or recovered. Almost forgot, I also have a splitter waiting to be installed and a new set of Turbo rockers (one of my front pieces is a slightly bent). Plenty of projects - just no time to do them.

Well, I have one car (my 968) that is totally stock and will be staying that way, right down to the FM/AM Cassette radio, another that is a total mod rocket (the 951) that has some fairly extensive HP mods, a confederate flag painted on the sunroof insert and dixie horn, a gutted 944 track car that has suspension/brake mods and a daily driver 944 thats mostly stock but has some factory upgrades from various years. Of course, I chose the tasteful mod answer on the poll, but having a confed flag sunroof probably makes me suspect at best. lol

LOL! I am looking for a spare sunroof panel for Track/Autox days that I can install in the car and not feel bad about leaving in the pits area if it is a nice day and I want to remove it. I may just do "something special" to it as well..................:)

Well, I don't exactly fit the profile. Nobody to wave to (unless I'm passing them). It think Porsche did a good job, no, make that great job, but I don't think they are gods who got everything perfect (shoot, the suspension design was already a good 20-30 years old when the car was new). Mine will be thoroughly modified front to back, top to bottom. No interior, well except for one seat and a bunch of tubes. Super stiff suspension. Open exhaust. Plenty of custom bits. Oh yeah, the body will have stripes and several stickers too.

That confirms it! Herr, I know who you are.

BTW, I am quite happy with mine the way it is. Which is basically the way it came, except the tire size is different, and it's been lowered slightly.

Now with new front sway bar bushings. No more "popping" noise as I turn corners.

Hi, I would think that most people who modify there Porsche think it's tastfully modified. But, as they say "One man's meat is another man's poison!"

Anyhow, here's a picture of my meat....[8D]

...is it your poison?[:'(]
