With such little information it is hard to say. Prices can range anywhere from 1000-5000 depending on condition. And I'll just give you the short answer, no you can not add a turbo, nor get much additional power out of the normally aspirated 944.

I have put a turbo motor in my 944 NA and it was as simple as could be. Cost of engine with 60k on it was about 1500 bucks, then a few goodies here and there, rebuilt turbo, rebuilt the head myself and put about 3k into it and the motor dropped in with NO problems. Dont want to start a debate about whether its worth it whatever...i know the 'just buy a turbo' but for me, when i already had the NA it would not have been worth it. Plus it was a fun little project.

Looks like a dece car, also looks like a lot of miles. Too much money if you ask me. Go for the M if you can afford it. The e36 is better in every way shape and form. Plus you will rack up 10 grand on this thing in no time unless you plan to do some wrenching and digging for parts yourself.

let me specify that it was 3k total, including the 1.5 for the motor
