2004 Boxster S - Or wait!

Hi there,

im quite new to the porsche world (well, i dont own one yet).

I've been offered a very low mileage, fully loaded, 2004 boxster s - for £35k - its a beautiful car, black with custom interior etc and 19" wheels.

My thought is, though, do i get that car - or WAIT until some of the 'new shape' boxster s have made it onto the second hand market?

I dont want to buy a car now, and then get burnt on massive depreciation because of the "new" model being desirable and nobody wanting the old model.

Any help would be appreciated!! I spoke to two friends who are porsche nuts, one said, "wait, as otherwise your boxster will drop like a log in value" and the other said, "the boxster is a desirable car anyway, so if you get the 2004 boxster s, you'll be fine on resale"

Argh!

Stop sitting on the fence, You will never find the right time to buy if you always consider what may come next.
Depreciation affects all cars but if you look at the resale prices of Boxsters they hold the price better than most others.
The fun you will have driving one, and doing it now will bring you so much pleasure you will not be thinking about resale prices, of course, the sensible thing to do is to keep the money in the bank (for a rainy day) what with Insurance, repairs, vandalism etc, but most people that do this forget what a rainy day is and become old, miserable and have no fun.
If you really are that worried about resale value, state the case to the seller and get a couple of £K knocked off.
Driving is about emotion, for once let your heart rule your head, have what you want and enjoy the experience, all hobbies cost money, your hobby is a car.
Go ahead, get the car.

If you're going to spend upwards of 65K (US) for an S- model and don't want a convertible, I'd wait. The Cayman will MSRP for around 58 or 59. Once you get it outfitted with the goodies it will be at least if not significantly more than an S. More horsepower too.
