The codes after I retrieved it read P1128 and P1130: Fault type Oxygen sensing, Area 2 cylinders 1-3 for the P1128 and cylinders 4-6 for P1130.Couldanyone explainin detailwhat these means and what I need to do (doc?) ?

Could it have anything to do with the octane since its all the pointing out all the cylinders? (using 91 octane).. Or the O2 sensors and if it is theres 4 of them 2 in the precatalytic and 2 before the catalytic (How can do I test the sensors to make sure if its bad or still good?)..

That is a bad maf sensor. When you throw o2 codes on both banks, it is a sign of a bad maf sensor, not the O2's

 

What causes the MAF sensor to go bad? Is it just normal wear and tear? Could the ECM ever give a false read? Also how do I check the sensor to be 100% sure?

The maf is a common failure point of the boxster and 996. You can try cleaning it with CRC Maf sensor cleaner and reinstalling it and see if it goes away. Typically the diode pops and it is no good. I don't know of any way to "test" them other than the PIWIS or PST2. On our PIWIS we can check the sensor with the car running, and it will give us values telling if the sensor is good or bad. The sensors are about $250

 

I have checked several sites selling porsche parts and all of them have an Air Mass Meter instead ofMAF sensor in their parts list and I am assuming its the same thing (am I correct?). The Air Mass Meter has two types though. One for models w/ e_accelerator and one for w/o e_accelerator.2.7 boxsteris w/ e_accelerator right?

Just out curiousity, I am aware that the e_accelerator basically has a potentiameter instead of cable link.. I work on industrial units and most problems I encounter are worn out potentiameter. In your experience, How durable is the potentiameter on the e_accelerator and have you worked on boxsters where the potentiameter went out? just wondering..
