Boxster radio system and alarm
 

hi there,

does anyone know if those two are related ? when i lock my car the horn screams once indicating that something is open, but nothing is. does anyone know where to look for ? from the factory they told me that this had to do with changing the original radio sytem, but this was happening with original stereo as well!!!!they made me mad and hence i left from the factory but still have the problem..thank you

My boxster did the same thing. It turned out to be the "oddity box" which is the german to UK translation for the lockable storage console behind the hand brake. It must be latched completely. There is a small section in the owners manual that talks about this. Also both trunks (boots) could do it if they are not shut completely or if the latch sensor is stuck. One other possibility might be the gas filler door as it does lock shut when you lock the doors (I kind of doubt it is this but you might check it anyway.
