Check Eng light on 1997 Boxster
Hi all
I recently bought a 1997 Porsche Boxster with only 41K mile on it. After driving it for about 400 mile, I got a check eng light on. I used Auto-Zone scanners to read the codes. the codes are P1124, P0600, P1126. Can anyone please help me what do I need to do? what causes the light to go on. how do I fix this? Thanks |

RE: Check Eng light on 1997 Boxster
Hi mova,
first thing is not to panic (which I did when mines came on). From what I have learned and things I have read.. as long as the engine light is not blinking then you shouldnt be in any immediate danger. I bought the bentley manual from amazon which has all the codes and fault types which I can give you.. P1124/fault type: Fuel pump relay output stage. P1126/fault type: Oxygen sensing adaptaion, lower load range, cyl 1-3. P0600/Fault type: CAN time out, tiptronic. Im not entirely sure what the cause of the codes are because I only recently aquired my boxster also. Hope reading the fault types help a little. |
