Default Engine mis-fire

hi everyone. i'm new to this forum and was wondering if i could rack someones brains over an engine misfire problem my boxster has developed. i have currently disconnected the battery to replace the electric window regulator. after finishing this job, replacing all parts in the door etc i came to reconnect the battery and start up the car and now the engine is mis-firing. i've checked all the engine management fuses etc inside the car! any idea's? or is it a case of back to porsche to go on their diagnostic machine?

Hi
I can't see how working on the door window etc could relate to an engine misfire directly.
How long between starting the job and finishing it? Were you starting the car up and moving it about while doing the job? If you were it might be a dirty plug(s) or it might be some coil caps on the plugs that are playing up.
Doc Willen any other ideas?
Regards Big Bob

Default RE: Engine mis-fire .... it's gone

thanks for the reply bob... after i made my first post i contacted my local Porsche dealership and they told me that after the battery had been disconnected for over one hour the engine management defaults back to factory settings. i was told to take my car for a short steady drive (the car spitting and popping and generally sounding unwell lol) and after a few minutes my pride and joy was purring like a kitten once more.

thanks
