Engine trouble of sorts

This may be hard for me to explain but I will do my best at it, when I am accelerating at a constant pace the engine will rev up around 2800rpm's to about 3300 rpm's and then drop back to 2800 rpms or so and then accelerate normally for that point i feel a slight lag in the engine when this happens and then it accellerates fine but this seems to happen in every gear and it was not happening before. It just seems to over rev and then goes back to normal rpm's. I might not have explained this well enough, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Engine trouble of sorts

This happens when your foot is off the clutch pedal? If so, it sounds like your clutch is slipping. How many miles?

I would highly suspect your clutch needs replacement, especially with that mileage. It is about a 10 hour job.

Thanks, I was fearing that will the flywheel have to be replaced or can it be resurfaced?

RE: Engine trouble of sorts

The flywheel can be resurfaced by a surface grinder, not a standard lathe. Most machine shops have this ability.
