Porsche resale value....better, worse, or the same as any other car???
 

So my 2004 Boxstercost a little more than $50,000 when I bought it new in November 2003. Now, 25000 miles and 4 years later it is worth 1/2 that according to my research. The car is just getting broken in and it is worth 1/2 what I paid for it. This has me thinking about my next purchase.

If my like new $50,000 Boxster is only worth $25,000 then I should be able to find a low mileage, like new 2004 911 that was originally $100,000 for about $50,000. Does this make any sense to anyone.

Has anyone had luck with a slightly used 911? If I would have known what I know now I would have bought a 2 year old Boxster back then because of the incredible savings over brand new.

I would love to hear from anyone that has purchased a slightly used 911 and let me know what you think...

Buying your Porsche brand new has its Pro too. You drive and maintain the car from the begining, in the other hand, buying a two years old car, you don't know what the other owner did with it. I own a 2006 Boxster S, but I am afraid the value of the Boxster will not hold as high as the 911. Also, since the Cayman came out, I believe the sales of the Boxster went down.The price is driven by demand. People like new things, and Porsche is pushing the Cayman too. Try check your locall dealer inventory, they have more Cayman and 911 inventory than the Boxster.
If 911 has two trunks, I would have brought a 911 too.:)
In the meantime, I just try to enjoy my wheel to the max.

Boxsters and 996's depreciate very rapidly, more so than the other models due to over production numbers. Simple supply and demand.
