RE: white smoke in exhaust

For how long? A few seconds is normal as the engine is a flat six and oil will seep past the valves and into the exhaust when the car sits. It immediately burns on startup, hence the smoke.

How many times of white smoke is OK? I use to have once in a while, but the last week, I have about 5 to 6 times at start up, it comes and go, now it stop, does that have something to do if I stuck in traffic for 45 minutes daily driving 10 mph? Thanks.

If the car is not smoking white while driving, then it is normal. If it starts puffing smoke at startup for more than 10 seconds......extreme, like 30 seconds of smoke, then i would check the oil air seperator.

Hi!
You like alot of us seem to have the same problem. I don't mind it happening at home, but if I'm out somewhere and it happens it can be a little embarassing.
I have found, for some odd reason, that if I park with the rear of the car slightly higher than the front, it doesn't smoke. If I park with the nose higher, it will smoke.
Not much help to you, but as the Doc says If it smokes for just a few seconds.don't worry about it. Still keep an eye on your consumption.
