Worked on car yesterday. Now airbag light stays on.

Yesterday I did some work on my 2000 Bosxter S. Now my airbag warninglight stays on. First, I removed and reinstalled the MAF (mass air flow sensor). I doubt that this would effect the airbag light. Then I removed and reinstalled the driver seat. To remove the driver seat I had to disconnect the electrical harness connector under the seat.Since the seat has a seat occupancy sensor,I wonder if disconnecting the electrical connector created the situation. While working on my car it is very possible that I turned the ignition on and off while the seat was removed.
Any help or advise would be appreciated. Also, is there any way that I can turn the airbag light off?

Thank you

Ignition off, key in your pocket !!! You don't want to trigger the airbag light when disconnecting the seats, so make sure all is finished before you put the key back in the ignition (say, to raise the top or something).

You may have to go to the dealer to have the light turned off or use your laptop and ODB2 software

Here is another info site:

If you disconnect the battery with the ignition on it may cause your airbag warning lamp to illuminate, requiring a trip to the service department to reset.

If you haven't already, ask rennlist forum for some advice for DIY:

Good Luck!

Disconnecting the battery will turn off a check engine light. It will not turn off an air bag light.

One other thing, not sure were you live. You might be able to DIY with the correct tools.

A registry has been started for people with the Durametric and PST2 http://www.renntech.org/forums/inde...showtopic=13779

Yup, she triggered when you pulled the seat. You will need a dealer or shop with a PST2/PIWIS to turn it off.

RE: Worked on car yesterday. Now airbag light stays on.

Thank you"dedes" ;)and "PorcheDoc";)!! I am trying to located a local shop that has a pst2 tester or piwis tester. I called the local Porsche dealer (Sun Motors near Harrisburg, Pa.). They said they could turn off the seat belt light for a mere $53.00. I could comment on that, but it speaks for itself.
