Cayenne Key

I have been searching far and wide and have a few questions for you Cayenne Owners. I did search by the way, I am not completely dumb. So here they are:

1. Does the key button on the remote key fob both lock and unlock the car?
2. Is this the real OEM Cayenne Key pictured below?

The reason why I am asking is I plan on doing a swap with my current switch blade key. I own a VW GTi and my current key fob is broken. So instead of replacing with another OEM VW switch blade, I wanted to retro-fit my key and its "guts" into a Cayenne key. The first place I looked for said Cayenne donor key was eBay. Much to my dismay it seems like all of the keys listed on eBay look like this:

Notice the difference between the two? The first one has a lock on the middle button, the second does not.

The separate "lock", "unlock" buttons areimperative to my swap.If itis the case where the Cayenne usesONE button to lock and unlock the vehicle, I will not be able to do this swap. I ask you very kindly to help me out and provide me with any information you have regarding this fact.

RE: Cayenne Key

Hello Jeff,
Yes these look like real Cayenne Key remotes. 3 button remotes came out on 2005 Cayennes, so if your Cayenne is any older it wont work. They have also discontinued making this style 3 button remote for 2005 so if you go to the dealer they are going to give you a 2 button remote. You will not be able to use both three button or two button at the same time so it's either one or the otherand if the key has already been programmed once for one vehicleit wont work on another vehicle..
Why do you want to replace?or switch?

Moe
