I have been a Corvette guy all my life. I was planning on getting a new 2016 Corvette Z07. Read too many experiences of Heat Soak, when the engine gets hot, then it pulls timing and power goes down. I live in Phoenix and we always have extreme heat in the summer. I am now looking to purchase a Cayman GT4 in the GT Silver when they come out in July.

I know the GT Silver is an upcharge option. What makes it so expensive? Do Porsche Dealers have a GT4 allocation and therefore do the "Market Adjustment" price increase? If I order using the "Build your Own" online, does that make a difference in eliminating the Market Adjustment? If I take European Delivery, does that make it easier to bypass the Dealer allocation issues and Market Adjustment?

Thanks for any info to a newbie!

I am surprised how many Porsche threads there are and no replies. I am getting more information on the Corvette Forum about the GT4, than I am here. I found out from the Corvette Forum that there will be 700 GT4s produced and therefore dealers are expected to add a $10,000 to $15,000 Market Adjustment to the price. Also heard the five year depreciation on the Cayman S is 53% and the Corvette C7 is 47%. If the dealers are going to add $15,000 to the price of the GT4, then I would be better off looking at a low mileage used 911 S.
