Satellite Radio
Does anyone have any suggestions for a satellite radio installation on Cayman S please?
Thanks, ratucker3 tennessee |
RE: Satellite Radio
If your cayman has PCM, we modify the Cayenne units to fit them, so it is a stock install, etc.
Without PCM, then you are looking at doing an aftermarket add on controller. http://karl.wilen.us/images/XM2.JPG http://karl.wilen.us/images/XM1.JPG |

I do not have PCM on my Cayman

RE: Satellite Radio
we just add Sirius to the factory Cayman unit w/o adding the Cayenne screen to it. Just a simple 1 hour install.
As for the posters solution, do a sirius starbase or xm controller. use a euro ant adapter also |
RE: Satellite Radio
Hello,
Could Porsche Cayenne manufactured in 01/03 be modified to have their PCM look like as if it natively supports XM (i.e. modify first generation PCM to support XM)? How much will it cost me? I live in CA. Thanks, Vinay |
RE: Satellite Radio
I was recently at the Brandywine Porsche dealership and they wanted over $1K to install XM into the PCM for a 2006 911 Cabrio. If it's a 1 hour install, the price they quoted seems high. I had XM installed in my 04 BMW 545i via an AUX port controlled by IDrive and the cost was ~ $250. What should I expect to pay to have XM via the PCM system?
Thanks, Tim |

The picture posted by PorscheDoc, is that of a Cayman Turbo, or 911 Turbo? I'm trying to find a way to integrate XM into my 997 Turbo.

RE: Satellite Radio
factory tuner is what i use for XM. on the fiber optic line, antenna hidden under the cowl as Porsche Doc mentions. Where you located? I might no someone in your area that knows what they are doing.
