You might want to pick up the BMW sensors new. The part number is 12 14 1 708 618. IIRC they are from like a 83-85 323i or something like that. Only difference is a little longer wire, but they are half the cost of the Porsche ones.

IMHO if you buy used reference sensors, you will run into the same problem, and you don't know if the sensors you are buying are good.
