The handle will fit, but the lock cylinder will not.

Why do you need to replace the door handle? If the drop-pin has broken, (90% of the time this is the problem) a replacement part is available.

This has just broken on my S2 and I am in the process of fixing it!

Actually the handle pulls break fairly often, which requires changing out the entire handle.

i want to thank you for your help and yeah it was actually just the pin that came out but my stupid luck the screw that holds the handle in place also broke so oh well its okay though as i was able to actually get a whole door handle in great conditionfrom lo and behold a local junk yard
oh man i also got to ask what would you say is a good price to pay for rims off a 1985 944 that are in okay condition??
im just looking for something to clean up and have powder coated just for fun ?

Depends on what rim your are looking for. There are cookie cutters and fuchs, i just sold a beat up (but straight and true) set of cookies for 200 bucks. Fuchs will probably go for 300 or so.

I replaced the door handle drop link on my Porsche 944 the weekend gone and I can report that I had no real problems. I don't know if was just luck, it was a bit fiddly, but it only took me about an hour from start to finish.
