G50 tranny, what can it handle??????????//
i have a little project going on which i may use a G50..
obviously i am a newbe and dont know much about the trannies.
How much power can they handle?
can they handle ripping gears or should on shift slow?
were the g50's different for different years?
are parts available to make them handle more abuse or are there many people out they who build them up?
if i have missed any other info giving ???????'s please let me know
thanks for any help given

RE: G50 tranny, what can it handle??????????//
G50 5 speed became an option in the 930 in 89. Before that was the 4 speed tranny. They can handle most any power you throw at them in a 930 that is still driveable. We shove cars out the door regularily with 500-600hp at the crank, and the G50 has had no problems. Most will tell you in a 930, over 600hp is not really driveable on the street.
