I just acquired a 1965 356 C , and the VIN # tells me it's a Karmann coach , but the motor in it now doesn't appear on my restoration guide , and it definitely wasn't the original motor ... I have the original as well and the numbers on that one matchup to the VIN # of the car . Can anyone tell me what car this motor came out of ?? Engine # 746093 ... Administrators please help me out , thanks !!

 

OK , I just found out the motor is out of a 1966 912 ... so being that my car is a 1965 356 C , and the motor is from a '66 912 , does that put my car in the "Outlaw" class ?? Also , does anyone know what the stock HP numbers were for the '66 912 motor ?? Thanks for the help ... FV
