Nice look to some of them. About how much weight can you save in total by replacing the stock components with these?

Well, then I guess these parts are just for the look, then (which i don't care for) and that seems a little "rice" to me personally. Carbon fiber fenders, etc. (painted body color) wouldn't be a bad idea at all though. I was surprised how much lighter a carbon fiber hood for my 'vette was compared to even a fiberglass one.

yes, Genuine carbon fibre finishes are mainly for beauy enhancement purposes! but.... they are also scratch and perfume resistant and can be repaired easily if there are any damage to it.
save the hassle of re-spraying and cleaning. =D
ALso, They are not replacement parts ! they are modified over the existing parts.

I can understand some people like the "high tech" look of carbon fiber, so I can see whereputting an applique of it on it to give the impression that the car is made of super-lightweight materials would appeal to some.
Since I don't like the look and pretty much stick to aftermarket parts that add performance, I do like paintable carbon fiber body and structural parts.
I looked up the stats on my hood. I have them on both Chevies but the stats on the Camaro's are interesting because we had a fiberglass one on it until carbon was available.
- stock (steel) -- 54 pounds with hinges
- fiberglass -- 15 lbs with hinges and complete ram air box and filter
- carbon fiber -- 8 lbs with hinges and complete ran air box and filter
Yes, carbon fiber only gains 7 lbs over fiberglass, for about twice the cost, but it weighs only about half as much

[sm=insomnia.gif]hmmm... wow. that is some facts you've got there...
however if its on the interior parts. after carbon fibre modifcations . The actual panels are heavier than the original....
For the hood, usually, in most cases, a fibreglass hood will be used for the CF lamination. therefore, it will be lighter than stock.
stock hoods are made of metal and of course, we cant laminate CF over metal hoods.
