Default 99 Boxster

I'm looking to purchase a 99 Boxster(5spd) cabriolet that has potential water damage and was wondering if anybody might have some concerns that I should look out for. I haven't seen it yet so I don't know if it has cosmetic damage, this I'm not concerned to much with. I'm more concerned with the electronics and engine problems.

Are there any known issues with this yr model????

Also does anyone know the what it would tac at if I was going 70.

Thanks,

Frank

I would recommend you stay away from a porsche with water damage, that can get very expensive very quickly. The early boxsters are prone to Rear main seal leaks (12 hour job), and catastrophic engine failure. I don't remember off hand what they tach @ 70mph, 2.5k maybe.
