Hi,

Even in very cared for and low milage 996 Porsche Turbo's they seemto sound very rattley in engine.
Why is this and can it be rectified?

This is a not infrequent question. Suggest going back down the 911 Forum entries for causes. Intermediate shaft torsional fluctuation rattle has appeared a few times. However this is not an issue for concern other than if you cant stand the noise.

It is only really audible up to 1500 RPM
I just don't trust the sound.
I feel that the engine will fly apart when I rev it out.
It seems normal with thatTurbo engine.
