Default 996 Repair Manual

Hi, I just purchased a 99 C2 and is seeking repair manual for this car. I am having some challenges finding one and the closest I can find googling the net is this ...

http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/821281

Has anyone any experience with this vendor and PDF repair documentation? Otherwise, if you know of other repair manual, please advise.

Thanks in advance

Well, that is the official workshop manuals which are what you want, but it is an illegal download, as the manuals are copyrighted by Porsche. There are pdf manuals floating around if you look hard enough.

"as the manuals are copyrighted by Porsche"
Doc, how does Porsche work this now? Do they just give (sell) download / viewing rights to their dealers?

All dealers have viewing rights to the material, whether or not they have to pay porsche a small fee for them, I don't know. One would like to think that each dealer is given the materials they need, but who knows....its a business. Unless you buy it directly from Porsche (usually in hardbound copies, and quite expensive), then it probably is a pirated copy.

There is a site on the internet where he has the pdf files online available for download for free. Again, you just have to hit the right key words in google. I'll let you figure that out for yourself

The downloads on that website are incomplete and not updated. As the listing says it only has 99 and 2000 996 info.

I have spent alot of time collecting and updating Porsche workshop and other service information such as Spec manuals, Techniks, Product Information Manuals and more. I have the complete collection of Porsche workshop manuals from the 356 up thru the 997, 987/987C, Cayenne, and Carrera Gt ( except the 959 ) plus several Porsche motorsports manuals and parts catalogues for the Cup Cars and GTR and such.

I also keep current with the dealer PET program.

If I can assist anyone here please PM or email me and let me know.

Thank you

Hello there! I'm the sales & marketing manager for Bentley Publishers. Apologies for resurrecting an ancient thread but I figured I'd quit lurking and let you all know that we've just published our brand-new Porsche 996 repair manual a few weeks ago. Here's a picture of the manual here at my desk:

If you have any questions about what's in the manual, post them here and I can try and answer them.

I found a good repair manual for my Ford here. Take a look, maybe you can find something for a 996 too. Best of luck!
