Has anyone done HID conversion on 911
I just bougth a 1999 911 cab and I want to do a HID head light conversion. There are many kits on Ebay that suggest it can be done. Has anyone done this and if so can you tell me if these common HID kits will work?
Thanks alot

These add on kits are a nicer, whiter light, but not a true HID. They are easy to install, I have done quite a few on boxsters. If you want the true HID with the proper lenses, then you need to buy them from Porsche, and you don't want to know what those cost.
For a 100-200 though, it isn't a bad upgrade. Gets rid of that yellow tinted light spray.

Hi Doc,
Thanks for the info. I need all the help I can get with night driving.
So do I just have to pull out the bulb from the back of the lense and replace with the new H7 bulb and install the plug & play ballast? Or does the lense need to come out too?
Thanks for your help,
Marty

Doc,
I was reading an old thread of yours concerning a fellow who was considering a Super Charger upgrade. I am really considering this upgrade if it is feasible for me and there is a good application upgrade for my 1999 911 C2 cab. Can you offer me any advice? So far I have checked the GIAC web site.
