Leaking porsche 911 1989 sunroof drainage metal tube
Hi I am hoping that someone could assist me with a problem of my leaking porsche 911 1989 sunroof drainage tube?? It has frustrated me for the past month now and after many experiments I have come to the conclusion that the metal drainage tube that runs from the top of the sunroof opening down along the winscreen frame, inside the "A" pillar, is rusted slightly and pitted at the bottom just before it returns into and out of the side of the "A" pillar. This pitting has caused water to leak down the inside edgeof the "A" pillar, starting just around the release handle for the front lid, and down into the passengers footwell (RHD vehicle). I have managed to pass mig wire down the tube as far as where the metal tube is joined by a plastic tube. If the tube was blocked one would think that water will fill up the tube and overflow in the sunroof area but, instead some water makes it's way to the proper outlet and some makes it's way down the "A" pillar and onto the carpet. I am the point now where that tube must be replaced - Porsche does supply part - Does anyone have any easy solution in replacing such part as it seems like a rather daunting proceedure. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.....

Are you sure the windshield gasket isn't leaking instead? It will leak down into the same area. I bet if you pulled the windshield, you will find a bit of rust around the lower frame area.

Thanks for the advice but, I think the tube is rusted. I have passed a smaller tube about 8 inches down the drainage tube and poured water down via my mouth and it still leaks in this area. I just can't work out how to replace that tube. Due to the confind space I think it would be quicker to train a rat to do the job. Any suggestions please ?????
