Need help removing 86 944 engine

Default Need help removing 86 944 engine

Can someone please tell me how to get the tourqe tube and bellhousing clear so I can get the engine out?, Thanks, scarabexc@aol.com

leave them alone, remove the radiator and slide the engine forward

I would pull the bellhousing with the engine, disconnect the four bolts that connect the torque tube to the bellhousing, and then drop the engoine out the bottom. It doesn't hurt to pull the radiator, but its not mandatory, either.

One quick question, Is it easier to pull the engine from the top or drop it from the bottom? Everything I read says drop the engine from the bottom. Why is it easiser. I'm hoping not to learn this the hard way so any suggestions is appreciated.

Go out the bottom. 2 hours and it will be sitting on the floor. Most of that time will be spent watching fluids drain.

Out the top involves a lot more stuff to clear, as well as having to pull the hood etc. Bottom is WAY easier.
