I have an '05 Boxster S purchased new in Aug. '05. About 6 mo. ago it developed an engine problem. Intermittently, when given full throttle, the engine just quits about 2500-3000 rpm. If you stay in the throttle long enough it will eventually catch again, or if you let up it will catch. It will do it in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th gears. It does it both cold and hot. The dealer says no trouble codes are set, and they can't replicate the problem so they won't attempt a repair. I left it for a week for the service manager to commute in, with no result. Yet, when I picked it up it did it twice that afternoon. I'm tired of wondering whether I'm going to make it when I do a fast merge onto the freeway.

Anyone have any ideas?

 

I would remove and either clean, or replace your MAF sensor and see if the problem goes away.
