Default 3M Clearbra

My 2006 Cayman S arrived today, but I don't want to drive it before it gets protected. I've ordered the 3M clearbra cut by Xpel, but the installer and I differ about how much hood protection is right. I was leaning toward the full hood/fender package, both for looks and for protection. He thinks the extended coverage (about 2/3 of the way up the hood) is enough, and says the wider sheet needed for the full coverage is backordered and could take more than a month to arrive. We agree on bumper and headlamp coverage. He can have the car done in 3 days if I don't wait for the full hood, and it's considerably less money. Any suggestions?

Default RE: 3M Clearbra

All the 3m bras we have had put on go up the hood about a 1/3 of the way. That will protect pretty much any rock chip you might get on the hood. Granted, you will never be able to protect the car 100% (unless you lock it away in the garage and don't drive it). If you drive the car, even with a bra, expect to pick up a rock chip or two eventually.
