I'm a newbie on this forum, (and the Porsche world) but here goes. 01' - 996 Carrera battery is charged, attempts to start = clicking of the selenoid only. Engine will not turn over, had been running fine up until this point. Do I need a seleniod, starter or both, or am I completly off track ?

Can I jump across the selenoid and start it without damaging anything else electrical ? (In order to start it, to get it to the shop.) Any help /suggestions, insults, will be helpful or amusing I'm sure.
