I have disconnected the battery to hard wire the daytime driving lights, now my 98' Boxster won't start? I did hold the gas pedal down and cranked it over to hear it running like a volkswagon and see smoke bellow for about three seconds. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this type of problem? Or knows what I can do to fix the problem??

Well I tried to start the car and it fired up, for 10 seconds and backfired to stop instantly. I think that I have blown my engine? It did have over 162,000 miles....
