Default Fuel gauge stuck question

My fiance just picked up a 1999 Porsche Carerra and is in the process of driving it home to Floridafrom Texas. Unfortunately, everything seemed okay but the fuel guage which read 1/2 tank on delivery continues to read 1/2 tank. Does it sound like a gauge, sending unit, or another problem? I'm hoping that she does not have to start her new ownership with a big repair bill.

Default RE: Fuel gauge stuck question

There is a TSB out there about a couple of hoses on the sending unit that get tangled in the float. It involves removing the sending unit (located in the little black plastic cover (looks like a hump) in the front trunk area. Pull out the unit, and secure the hoses to the unit so they can not get tangled in the float, and then re-install.
