Trans leak repair cost
I finally met a lifelong goal of buying a 88, 911 Targa but it didn't come off without a hitch.
The car had 38000 miles and was a one owner car with all inspections done. Due to sitting around too much the Trans seal is leaking. I got a quote for the the trans seal from a mechanic for minmum $3500 to $5000. Does this sound about right? PLease advise..as we say in the military I am green in this area! Thanks in advance

DOC,
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, it is the main seal between the transmission and the rest of the engine. Where the narrow part connects to the wide part centered. Sorry for the horrible explanation but I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE.
