Default What Coolant should I use?

My car only has a few thousand miles on it, I was surprise to find out the coolant level was below the normal level this morning. Is it normal that it drop below min. level in just a few thousand miles? Also, when I check the book, it tells me to add "Porsche Approved" coolant, what should I add? Can I just buy coolant from Auto shop and add one part water + one part coolant like any other car? Please help.
