Default compression test.. can i use....?

I want to do a compression test on a 1986 944 turbo ( 951 ). I DO have a compression tester/gauge that I bought a while ago for a different car and wanted to know if I can just use that. Are the spark plug threads any different size than 'normal'? Or should I expect to buy a special adapter?

So I would just start at cylinder number one and then crank it over a few times till the gauge reads it's peak, right? I know that they all should be at about 150. What is considered low? 130?

What is the proper way to compression test it?

Thanks

Chris
