Default 1968 911-#1183xxxx

Hello All,

I was looking for input. I am thinking about picking up a 1968 911 #1183XXXX for a restoration project. Car looks solid-will have to be bare metal restoration because the Current owner did a color change. I believe the original color is white-Interior looks good "red". I believe it has 6 carbs. What is the top end value of a completed car? I will probably put 7k into paint, around 4-5k for car "as is". Am I already topped out? Before I even get into mechanicals? If I decide where can I get gaskets, trim, oem parts?
thanks in advance.

A really nice early 911 will go for upper teens is all. Restoring a car is just not a positive investment. If you are doing it for a fun project and a money isn't an issue, then sure. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap porsche.
