Hello...new to the site and have been impressed...I have an 84 944 that just started a knock/bang coming somewhere in the back end, possibly on the passenger side. Almost sounds like a hammer on metal. Not regular or rythmic. Seems to occur after running for a while.
Any thoughts?

Hi, check the wheel bearings. When they are worn and heat up they tend to start making that exact noise you described. I had an 84 944 that went through them all the time.
