99 911 Carrera grinding noise
Newbie porsche owner (2 weeks) bought used 996 (99 Carrera Coupe, 62K miles). Had 60 K service done at dealer after purchase.
Got the thumbs up on the vehicle overall from the local Porsche Dealer. It runs great!
I am noticing a slight grinding noise coming I think from the right front wheel as I accelerate from 20-40 mph. At the recent service
I needed new rear tires and 4 wheel realignment. Any ideas what this grinding is, it is not constant. ? rotors? suspension?
Help

RE: 99 911 Carrera grinding noise
I have a 99' 911 (6 speed) with about 80k miles on it. My noise has also been increasing over the past months and starts when I reach about 35mph. It's not a grinding though. It's like a loud flutter (almost like an exhaust leak). It started coming from the front underneath but now is all over.
A local repair guy drove it and said it's the main bearing on the transmission shaft. When I push in the clutch, it goes away.
is this similar???
