my 2001 boxster s with 22,000 miles started a ticking noise this morning ewhen I started it. Checked the oil..... all good, ticks at idle and goes away at 1100 rpm if held steady. At 2000 rpm starts tickig again. Any idea?

 

Stop driving the car and get it towed to a shop now and have your IMS bearing checked. You may well be on the verge of destruction. a 22k mile boxster that is 10 years old is a prime candidate for that failure.
