Default engine swap for a 1977 924

this is a non-turbo 924. I think the 2.0L. What late model engine would be more reliable and be relatively easy to swap? A V8 swap was on my mind but renagade Hybrids said they do not make the kit any longer. Is there another place that sells the conversion kit? Appreciate any info, thanks.

Renegades doesn't make the kit?

For 924 only or did they stop making the kits for all porsche cars?

Renegade hybrids still do porsche kits but they stopped making most all 924 V8 kits, they said the 924 platform is too weak for the torque/weight of a V8, a V6 is still too much.

I would just transplant a 944 2.5L engine in.
