Hi, I need help
Ok so I am a big Porsche enthusiast. More of a Dreamer. So I'm 17 in the moment and I want to know If I should wait before buying a porsche. I mean I'm always thinking about it and saying how I will get one but you know life is about to begin with work and all. So I will be saving money. Can you recommend any cars that I guess are..porsche like? or do you suggest a 924, 928, or a 944. I usually see these cars posted on craigslist seattle and they are usually under 5k. Im about to save a lot of money because for some reason these cars are like something more to me than just a machine. Ok, thanks.

I'd recommend waiting. You are young and not yet making a good deal of money. An old but inexpensive Porsche will need a lot of maintenance costs and not be particularly reliable transportationanyway.
I'd recommend Acura Integras and Mitsi Eclipses as rather "prosche-like" and reliable, or, if the box-like styling doesn't turn you off, the VW Golf GTI is damn good and one of my favorites.

I agree with Lee Willis' comments completely. The older Porsche's are going to offer inconsistent reliability and will be expensive to maintain. I'd suggest picking up a decent low-mileage Porscheduring your working years. If you like german engineering, look toward a much more affordable (initial cost and maintenance) VW. GTI's are a very good car and will offer you great performance and handling.

Hi, Yardoman, life is short but yet it is long. You are only 17, you can wait, and you know why? When you have enough money to run and maintain your Porsche, it will be much more fun. Also, at 17, your insurance will be high.
