New kid on the bloc
Hello to all.
My name is Clark. My dad and I are rebuilding a 1980 911sc targa. He's had it for a few years now, and the thing just doesn't move anymore. We are about half way through the tear down of the engine, but are having some problems removing the studs. Three of them were broken, and the others just plain hard to get out. So I'll probably be on here a lot asking question about motors and better parts...and a few other things as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to you and yor dad. Re the studs. A good tip is to run some penetrating oil down them. Give them a hard axial bang with a hammer and brass drift to jar the threads, and then use a good quality stud extractor to get them out. If this does not work apply a little heat on the stud from a welding torch, and then repeat the hammer and drift process. You have got to break the corrosion/electolysis between the blockand the stud.
Good luck. Big Bob
